I am a modern chypre, reimagined with a two-part patchouli. One part enhances my floral heart where Damask rose reigns supreme, while the other blends with cocoa powder in the base, revealing its dark and warm notes. In the top notes, fruity and citrusy aromas support the audacious trail of delicate violet leaves.
I am like the Queen of Sheba, mysterious, continuing to intrigue century after century. I am Sublime because I am captivating, I am Balkiss because I am elusive and moving. I am Sublime Balkiss.
A scent of intertwined emotions…
“I discovered with fascination those women of 1940s black and white American cinema, indifferent and terribly elegant, who exuded a mysterious, complex, and demure aura. At the same time, I was discovering Ireland. It was an olfactory shock: the scent of rain, fresher and gentler than that which falls upon the lands of Provence, the scent of the wind, mineral yet velvety, the delicate, barely sweet scent of heather. A land of fire beneath the damp moorland…”
Last winter, I rediscovered those sensations, and as I wrote, the subject took shape: a chypre fragrance. Wearing this perfume was a new experience for me, a way to indulge in this personal pleasure. And the name came to me unexpectedly: that of the Queen of Sheba, a beautiful, accomplished, and mysterious woman about whom we know little or nothing, but who, many centuries later, still fascinates us.
