2000 The origins
The Different Company was born with this century, at a time when luxury was spoken of in perfumery, but true connoisseurs did not always find satisfaction. From this observation, the first The Different Company creations appeared, developed by Jean-Claude Ellena and Thierry de Baschmakov.
Joined by Luc Gabriel, who became the house's director, the project developed and became one of the pioneers of contemporary niche perfumery. Unique fragrances, rare essences, natural raw materials, exceptional bottles, innovative objects, fully demountable and refillable – this is the spirit of The Different Company.

Recognized as one of the major perfumers of this century, Jean-Claude Ellena has created unique fragrances for our house with a trail of rare elegance. Iris Wood, Peppered Rose, Bergamot and Osmanthus are still unrivaled in the world of perfumery today.

In 2005 Céline took over from her father to continue writing the olfactory history of the house. With major fragrances like Sel de Vetiver, Sublime Balkiss or Pure eVe.
Emilie Coppermann, master perfumer
Emilie joins the house to create the Esprit Cologne collection. Inspired by a classic construction, Emilie knows how to find the angles, the components and the writing that completely renews the genre. In Eau de Toilette as in Eau de Parfum.
